Summerlin Chess Club
Chess, community, and opportunity — open to every student.
Free instruction • Free transportation • Free lunch • Beginner friendly
Who We Serve
The Summerlin Chess Club welcomes middle and high school students from historically underserved communities, including those who may have limited access to enrichment programs, transportation, or structured after school activities. Our goal is to create a supportive, low pressure environment where every student feels welcome and valued.

What We Offer
For Beginners
Most of our members start with little or no experience. We teach the basics step by step and help students build confidence through practice and friendly games.

For Intermediate & Advanced Players
Experienced players are invited to join us as peer mentors. Volunteers help teach tactics, openings, and endgames — and serve as role models for younger students.
Transportation & Logistics
Transportation should never be a barrier. We provide bus fare reimbursement or free rides from screened volunteers to ensure reliable access for all participants.
